   About The Artist

Welcome to the world of the artist Micheline Lamarre Hadjis. Take a trip through the dancing forms and vibrant colors of her compositions.

Micheline developed her skills over years in several fields of art and design. A successful career as a fashion designer gave her a feel for colors and textures. Then, as a stained-glass artisan, she experimented with translucence and luminosity. Painting on porcelain allowed her to develop precise and feathered brush techniques, while working with ceramics helped her expand her spatial concepts of depth and perception.

These experiences brought Micheline to develop her own technique which she calls “Exotic Fantasy”. On a specially prepared canvas, the artist plays with fluid acrylics as they glide and blend to form the versatile background. The subject with all the details is then painted with several applications of opaque acrylic which provides the vibrant colors and contrasts. The artist favours the rarest exotic flowers and captures their sensuality and sexuality. She enjoys playing with the creatures of the sea in an imaginary habitat where flamboyant tropical fish flirt and mingle without a care in the world, while truly creating her own style in this genre.  Constantly experimenting, abstractions have become primordial in her evolution and lead the path to other exciting frontiers.

Micheline is exhibiting in several art galleries. She has also painted murals and unique pieces on commission.  She works closely with designers to understand and guide customer’s needs. Each painting is unique and a work of quality that adds beauty and elegance to any décor.  She has also served as President of the Beaconsfield Artist Association form 2006-2008.

Micheline has participated in FANTASEA with her marine compositions. This exhibition was held at the Arizona Museum for Kids, from March 9th to July 22nd.  Her fish compositions are also reproduced in murals. One is at Ste-Justine Hospital in Montreal and another one is at Naimo Hospital in Naimo, B.C, Canada.

Among her recent works: a triptych called “Splendour of the Sea” is at the Westin Hotel, in beautiful Mont-Tremblant, Canada.

Micheline’s artwork is now available in many formats including the original work as well as high quality reproductions in various sizes.
